Getting the Smile of your DreamsWhile you may assume that the process of bleaching your teeth can result in you damaging the interior of your mouth and or cost you a large sum of money, the reality of the fact is that this simply isn’t true. Regardless of your budget or how fast you wish to transform your current state into a bueatiful set of pearly whites, there’s a wide variety of affordable options available that you can choose to utilize. The first of which is at-home based care, and the second is office based. This is an overview of the pros and cons of each procedure.

Office Based Procedures
If you want the fastest results possible, the office based option is your best bet. While the procedure in itself will end up costing you more that the typical home based kits, based on the fact that office based bleach whitening procedures consist of utilizing a higher level of peroxide, you will end up with a much brighter smile than you would have, if you choose the path of a home based procedure. The major downside to this though, is the fact that the typical dental office will charge anywhere from $500-$1000, based on the type of equipment and or professional technique they choose to utilize.

Home Based Kits
When it comes to home based bleaching teeth whitening kits, there are 3 main categories available that you can choose from.

Tray Bases Options
The first option is a tray based tooth bleaching system. This procedure consists of a mouth guard-like tray that has been lined with a peroxide infused bleaching gel. The user would be required to wear the mouth guard for 4-6 hours a day for a period of up to 6 weeks. This can cost you anywhere from $150 to $400.

Tooth Whitening Gel And Strips
This consists of utilizing peroxide based gels with a toothbrush or a peroxide laced strip. You can get your teeth up to 3 shades whiter in as little as 2 weeks. The only downside with this though is the fact that results are temporary and will last for up to 6 months only. The typically prices for tooth whitening gel and strips are usually around $15-$50.

Tooth Whitening Toothpaste
Tooth whitening toothpaste only cost approximately $3-$4 more than your standard toothpaste and can be used as a supplement to your standard toothpaste. While this is the cheapest way you can pursue to achieve a brighter set of pearly whites, they only manage to leave your teeth one shade whiter than it was previously and you will have to continuously use the tooth whitening toothpaste in order to maintain the positive effects it has on your teeth.
